Barack Obama And Hillary Clinton Intense Debate"The strategy of building traffic to your blog by leaving comments on other blogs only works when your comments ad value and are relevant to the post. If you don’t adhere to this you’ll just end up hurting your reputation."
- Darren Rowse -

I replace Fragrance Diva (FD) standard commenting system with an enhanced version that features all sorts of commenting goodness: Intense Debate. It is more easy now for you to comment on FD.

To increase executive discussions, you are more likely to comment with a user-friendly system. So, What are the benefits for this new tool?

Wordpress users are lucky in this case to have a good easy to use commenting system. Until now, I was using Blogger.com comment system which is not very suitable for readers. You need to click links and links to see the comment form.

That's why I decided to find a solution for my readers. To my mind, it's better to read an article and to have the option to comment in the same page.

Here are Intense Debate benefits you may enjoy:

  • 'Post Reply' to an individual comment with just a click

  • An up or down voting system per comment

  • Each user also has a reputation attached to their identity that is displayed whenever they make a comment

  • When you make a comment on an Intense Debate comment system you are marketing yourself like no where else

  • You can also subscribe to the post's comments RSS feed as well as sign up to get notified when someone replies via e-mail

  • Allowing users registered with their network, or with OpenID to add their opinions.

Great stuff, right?

To see Intense Debate in action, I’m very interested in your feedback on "Importance Of Interaction On Blogs With Intense Debate"... Opinions?

Why Guys Don't Call You Back

Why Guys Don't Call You Back"What a lot we lost when we stopped writing letters. You can't reread a phone call."
- Liz Carpenter -

If you give your phone number to a guy, and he's not calling you back few days later or so, Most of all, this guy is not attracted to you or he's busy.

As I always said, there's a reason to everything. Men don't call you back not because they do not respect... There are 4 things you Ladies are doing that push them back, and they won't tell you!

One of the biggest issues women have with men is "why guys don't call back?"
I was talking with my cousin yesterday on the phone. We had this discussion about a date she had three weeks ago. I always heard women asking questions like: "We had a great night, what's wrong with him?", "Does he date someone else?", "Was there anything wrong with my make-up?", etc.

Guys will use all kind of excuses while they don't want to see you. But here are the 4 reasons men won't tell you...

Women talk too much

During your date, men love to ask that you tell more about yourself, they want details about you. Now, what next? You start talking, which is not bad. But please, don't talk too much. when, they ask, it's too let you talk. But Ladies, avoid too much details.

A solution for this: Answer briefly, then ask him a question. Play a "Answer-question" during your date. Thus, you will learn more about him. :)

Don't go in the details of what men did to you in the past

Even if men ask to tell them about your past relationships during a date, Don't do it. In general, I noticed that when guys ask women questions about their intimacy, they become shy... Then, if a guy insits, she becomes more confident and starts talking about all the bad things every man ever did to her. Men don't want this.

Ok, Ladies you wonder why they ask those things, huh? Simply just because, they want you to talk. You are on a date, so they find a way to chat about everything by asking questions.

To sumarise, don't talk about wrong things during a date. Just have fun!

Having sex to soon

According to a certain social code, it's better to not having sex to soon.
About this, part of me agrees with "Don't have sex to soon" and another do not agree. You know, life's experience talks. You can date a man, have sex the first day and build a strong relationship. In another hand, you can let him wait weeks, a month or more, and have a bad relationship.

I think it depends on your feelings and the way both of you felt the attraction...
Please leave your opinion about this subject. What's your point?

You don't smile

Smile, it's really important. Men love to see women smiling. They feel like they are contributing positively in your life.

Even if you had a bad day, be honest with him and continue by giving him a compliment (about the way he is dressed) and sharing a good time with him.

I leave you with a great video. It's a range of men thoughts on this subject...

Feel free to leave your own opinions and comments by leaving a message below. I’m all ears… and I’m listening.

The Working Immigrant In Canada

The Working Immigrant In Canada

FD Expert - by Steve Abouem

A lot, good or bad has been said about the immigrant in Quebec and Canada. This topic might be quite familiar to many of you, immigrants or non-immigrants, but many are not, given the incredible amount of information one must mentally ingest to be on the right place with today’s world.

For the sake of clarity, let’s define what is considered an immigrant, in this case. This category regroups all people born outside of the country, or their relatives who obtained through them their permanent residency on the Canadian territory.

Simply said, an immigrant is an individual who came to Canada either for work, studies, familial, economic or political reasons, and who obtained after the proper process his residency.

More and more immigrants in Canada are graduates from universities inside or outside the country -more than a third according to Statistics Canada-, or are investors and earned the residency in the Economic category.

Although it gives them a potential advantage on the average population, they still don’t get the opportunities in adequacy with their competences. This situation is surprising given the openness of the governmental policy regarding work and immigration. Of course, discrimination is an important factor, but not the only one.

Watch the video below which is an example of a qualified Immigrant from sri Lanka finding a job...

Misinformation is also part of the problem, since immigrants are not always aware of all the opportunities they have in Canada. This may be either due to them not looking for the information or to that information being hard to find, since the immigrants, just as the local citizens are not always referred to the proper office for guidance.

As far as work itself is concerned, immigration is not doing as well as it used to do, especially in the 70’s or early and mid 80’s. One reason for this is the 30% increase in the end of the 90’s*. It takes indeed some time for an immigrant to settle, get the right job, and acquire the right experience and property.

Therefore the more immigrants are coming in the same time window, the lesser the global immigrant performance is going to be. The average salary for a Canadian immigrant was 10k$ less than the average Canadian as shown more accurately in the table below.

This diminution is also perceivable in the property rate in the immigrant population, which has also decreased with time. The immigrant’s situation in Canada is rather good compared to the U.S. for instance, because of his high level of education.

However, the decreases in salary and ownership have the same sources: the increase of the immigration, the decrease of the average working conditions for the immigrant population and the increase in the welfare of local citizens. Overall, the gap between salaries isn’t so huge, and can be closed.

The situation, however has a different impact for student immigrants, since the investment required for their studies, before acquiring the residency is at a minimum of 55 000$ to much more.

About Steve Abouem

.
Comments

Steve AbouemBorn and raised in Cameroon, Steve came to Canada for his higher education. He obtained his bachelor in politics, and studied economics and psychology as well.

He’s also interested in basically all visual arts and all kinds of music, but most of all in people and other cultures.

Steve has got good awareness, good sense of observation and a strong will to understand the others and their inner motivations for their behaviour. All along his multiple social experiences, good and bad he shaped and enhanced these abilities, and can be described as someone who understands the human nature, even though there’s still a lot to learn.

Steve has always loved to give advice to others, because he can easily understand how they think, how they feel and what they want.

He can put himself in your place and help you make the right choice, regardless to your age, sex or even origin. This applies to dating and couple’s life as well.

I myself have been literally counselled by him in those hard times that every dating person go through along the relationship.

Humility and discretion are nonetheless a duty to him, for he knows that there are lots of talented people on earth, starting in his immediate entourage.

RSS Feed of Fragrance Diva
What is RSS? RSS is a technology called web feed (or news feed) used for providing users with frequently updated content such as blog posts, news, podcasts.

The video below from BecomeaBlogger explains how to subscribe via RSS

No, Stella. I am not familiar with RSS thing. I prefer to receive updates via Email...

Ok, that's fine. All you need to do is enter your Email Address and click "Subscribe" to easily receive email updates and the blog breaking news. Please, use the form in the sidebar (on your right). A confirmation email will be sent to you to ensure you do wish to receive updates.

If you want to unsuscribe, usually you will find an "Unsubscribe" link near the bottom of any emails sent for feed updates.

Traditionally, you had to 'bookmark' websites in your browser and manually return to them on a regular basis to see what had been added.

4 problems with bookmarking:
  • You as the web surfer had to do all the work

  • It can get complicated when you are trying to track many websites at once

  • You miss information when you forget to check your bookmarks

  • You end up seeing the same information over and over again on sites that don’t update very often.
This new and exciting technology is very useful to keep track of your favorite websites or blogs.

You may recognize the universal feed icon or these "chicklets" from your favorite websites and blogs. For example, when you read a post on my blog, chicklets look like this:

Chicklets on Fragrance Diva

There are two places to look for a site’s feed:

. On the Site
Everytime you notice a lot of little buttons and widgets appearing on your favorite website and blog, it means it has a feed that you can subscribe to. You will see a little orange icons (now there are coloured ones), links called RSS, XML, ATOM and many more...

Check on your right... Fragrance Diva RSS button is:

Feed Icon
When you click on that, you will be redirected to Fragrance Diva Feed (in french, "Flux"). Then, click on "Subscribe to this feed" inside the yellow frame.

. In Your Browser
When you surf to a site you can usually tell if it has an RSS feed by looking in the right hand side of the address bar.

When you use Firefox, here's how it looks for Fragrance Diva:

When you use Internet Explorer, here's how it looks:
